Well, the schematic they sent me shows an ISP pushbutton switch next to the RESET pushbutton switch. I can only assume that if it was NOT OK, they wouldn't put it on their new demo board! Also, I know it doesn't mean that it will always work, but I have never had a chip fail using a switch or jumper to short PSEN to ground while holding the reset line high (or before powering the board!) Since Atmel sent me the schematic files without any disclaimer, I will assume that they are not confidential.
