In my humble opinion the Phyton ChipProg+ (available at a discount through 8052.com) is an excellent universal programmer at a great price.

I believe that Phyton only has the one model unlike some universal programmer manufacturers who continue to obsolete their older models to force you to upgrade.

Phyton continues to add new chips to their software and I received a free upgrade email just today.
