------------------------------- I understand about sampling rate.....ok the program I have written is simple it polls the pin if it goes high it prints a 1 if it goes low it prints a 0..with no timer aspects this was just to test...I am getting data...but none of it looks the same..or atleast nothing I could run through a decision structure.. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - What you are doing is smart. I used the same technique to start cracking radio digital packets... wrote a routine for a 386 computer to display pixels based upon its digitized read of the radio scanner input. Analyzing the patterns you can start to pick up the characteristics and plan your circuitry appropriately. The inconsistent patterns told you your first clue: Something is wrong. It might be a good time to learn how to work with spreadsheets because you can do a little reading about IR Remotes online and compute the bit timings etc. I couldn't find that 273-138 part online at Radio Shack. I'll stop by one Saturday and see if I can find it. aka j |
