yes I am using a 8052 board hooked to a dumb terminal just to monitor the data...So your saying my problem is BASIC?....and assembler might do it? the detector I am using removes the carrier frequency from the IR signal so all that is coming in is data...but maybe as you said, basic is too slow for such an application.....I get alot of different answers in this form....thanks for your help though..
