#80512 - RE: Philips and RC resets. Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Erik,
I think something as simple as; In a typical application use of the recommended RC reset circuit will produce a normal boot process in approximately xxx out of every 1000 starts (cold boots). Similarly, use of the recommended RC reset circuit will produce a normal boot process in approximately yyy out of every 1000 restarts (warm boots). For higher reliability the use of a reset supervisor circuit is recommended. would be sufficient for a data sheet. As for the particular circumstance you cited, and similar, I would like to see them refer the user to a white paper describing possible boot-failure scenarios. In the meantime, while I don't believe this is their intent, they do give the impression that they are being deceptive, that they are trying to claim something is good enough when it clearly isn't. |
