You have misunderstod what I was saying. I am not objecting you using ATMega8 because I already done that and there is no switch cost for you.
But I was reffering to switching cost for the fellow who has initiated the thread. As many fellow suggested different core MCU I was just telling him to consider switching cost & time for that
