#87848 - Mr. Peter - Its not my problem Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Mr. Peter Dannegger said
"whats your problem ? I searched long, but there is a big gap on the flash 5V DIP 8051 devices from the small 20-pin to the bigfoot 40-pins. Thus I decided the 28 pin ATMega8. Its only my personal decision because the named reason. And the LPC was dropped because the named reason (5V problem). " You have misunderstod what I was saying. I am not objecting you using ATMega8 because I already done that and there is no switch cost for you. But I was reffering to switching cost for the fellow who has initiated the thread. As many fellow suggested different core MCU I was just telling him to consider switching cost & time for that See what Mr. Oleg Sergeev saying in this regard "This might be a reason when you start doing from zero and have good experience with some cores. But if you good know only MCU51 and have many projects already done for this core then I doubt that some cents per chip may compensate the cost of time taken for learning and porting that all. Always remember that time costs money too. Another contra: working on similar projects for two different cores simultaneously increases work time - you may not "copy-paste" parts of programs, may not use common libraries etc. Finally, this way makes brains crazy (=" |
