Haven'tyou considered a 89C2051-pin-compatible model in the LPC9xx family?
Pin compatible without some level of "function compatile" is not possible. I laud Philips for abolishing the compatibility issue and terminating the Philips/Intel agreement resulting in the superior Philips XA and not the inferior 251.

So, Please, make superior products, if "by accident" they come out compatible - great, but please do not drop anything on that altar.
