Many a switch, be it a PUSH BUTTON, or one of many other types, can be a SPST type switch. I think that you are really trying to say that a momentary PUSH BUTTON is different from an alternate action BUTTON. Neither of these switch types implies anything about whether the resulting switching arrangement is SPST, SPDT, DPST, DPDT, 3PST, 3PDT, 4PST, 4PDT ..........
