#91316 - Hidden details Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As these "physics" or "analog" details made a lot of troubles, the manufacturers of EEPROM/FLASH try to hide as much details as possible - at a cost of increased circuit complexity (but that is of much less issue than it was in the best times of EPROMs ): - programming (high) voltage is generated (and controlled) internally - programmig/erasure timig is often controlled internally - "homogenizing" pre-programming before erasing is often performed internally The result is easier use and more consistent operation over wide supply voltages. However, the "physics", resulting as wear-, EMC-, high temperature-induced problems, is still there in the background... Jan Waclawek |
