we want to make this device compatible with different GSM mobile phones,and thats why it needs to be updateable
Having been involved with the innards of one and seeing here some of the other phones requirements, I can tell you that adapting to the requirements for one phone will, most likely, blow the interface for another. Thus I recommend that you do not connect to the phone, but require that the "data cable" made specifically for that phone in use be used. The other end of "data cables" will be (close to) RS232.
