Hello Paul,
Since you mention the 89S52 and external Flash, I presume that your code will be around 8K only, then you can try the P89V51RD2 with IAP (In application programmable)with a total of 64Kb flash, and also the P89C669 with around 90Kb of flash, these devices are from Philips. Serial eeproms like the 24C04, 24C256 etc are also used for backing up data. If your data to be saved is less than 256Bytes then an RTC like the PCF8583 with internal RAM can be used. There are appliation notes on this subject in a XICOR and INTEL manuals. Regards, John. |
