I have two datasheets of FM24CL16 - one is dated April/2001, marked "preliminary" and states 10^12 cycles; the other is dated Feb/2002 and states unlimited cycles. The technology is obviously evolving.
It is interesting that while more companies have been developing the technology, as far as I know only Ramtron succeeded in getting real devices to street. Another interesting fact is, that Ramtron is fabless and the parts are actually manufactured by Fujitsu...

Well, I don't share this view; I am rather conservative and I don't like to change the tools and gadgets I am using too often. Just this month my 7-years old - but othervise in perfect condition - TV got "sclerotic" and adjusted itself randomly probably because of a worn-out EEPROM...
