I haven't noticed anything similar on the market. Oh yes, there are announcements and press releases... But at the end of the day, the sold product is what really counts.

There is a long long way from the lab to the street...

And there are also economic reasons. For a big company riding on the success of PCs ad mobile phones, FRAMs are a niche compared to mass production of FLASH and DRAM.
And maybe this is why the little and unknown and fabless company with only this product succeeded, while the big ones with huge technological backgrund failed...
