Oh good grief, this is blown up out of all proportion
The thread in question was simply closed as a courtesy to everyone here (including Mike, Jez, Joe, Jacob, Jan, Mehdi, and me) who was spending their time thinking up neat, tidy solutions to the OPs problem. Some, hell, all of them MAY well have been unworkable, so then with feedback from the OP we could perhaps have come to some better solutions. The point is that this is a forum for the discussion of ideas, if the OP can't be bothered, why should anyone else spend their efforts ? I sent a note to the OP when I closed the thread, that the OP might like to contribute again, and that I would be happy to open the thread when he wanted to reply. I haven't had a reply. Mike then sent me a fairly offensive email, which I won't post here, insisting that I re-open the thread. When the OP wants to reopen it, I will, no problem. It was just a tidying measure to stop inaccurate clutter. Steve |
