It is not your fault that there can not be a thread about sympathy for victims without someone throwing political opinions into the thread.

I considered stating a "sympathy thread" for the London victims and decided not to because of what happened in the 9/11 sympathy thread.

Re "allowed" subjects
I think ANY opinion about the '51 and associated electronics should be allowed, NO opinions about unrelated issues (especially persons) should be allowed. It is unfortunate that we can not, as in the past, have a "merry Christmas" thread any more, I fear that someone will post, in an abusive way, that it is offensive to non-christians.

Re closing threads
I have more often been surprised that a thread was not closed than surprised a thread was closed.

Keep up the good work and ignore the few thistles in the wheat.

That some can not stand the smoke and feel obliged to get out of the kitchen which they are free to do is just another example of the "free speech" they argue. One part of "free speech" is "freedom not to hear" and, sadly, but not surprising, that is the one thing most free speech advocates forget.
