I don't think so. If this won't go through a long path etc.etc. I see no reason why the absolute worst case 0.1V noise immunity with the creppiest Schottky around won't suffice. If not, the AT89C2051 is specified up to VCC=6V so you get extra 0.2V margin from that :-)

I don't think this issue deserves more attention than this.
