Professionals don't use diode-resistor-logic for level translation, just because the voltage drop across diode entirely eliminates the low-voltage noise margin, even if you use a Schottky! Recall the noise margins of TTL-logic to see what I mean. By the way, reduced noise margins in combination with ground bounce is a major cause of malfunctions in digital circuits. Kai |
