#103909 - I am doing that using the Dallas DS2401 Responding to: ???'s previous message |
By inclusion of the word "BIASING" I would expect someone with your obvious knowledge to realise that I would be BIASING the lines.
Chris, if you see some of the threads here you will realize that the most dangerous thing you can do in this forum is "to assume the obvious". It may very well be that you "speak clearly" but how am I to know? "slave discovery/enumeration", which will have collisions only in very controlled circumstances. I assume you are talking about the "find the slaves and assign them node numbers at power up" I am doing that using the Dallas DS2401 and standard 3 resistor terminated RS485. There is no "popping" transcievers during the conflicts since the transciever I use is guaranteed to withstand short circuit. Anyhow the confilct is max one byte, so even a chip guaranteed to withstand short circuit forever only has to do it for a few hundered microseconds. Erik |
