Thanks again for your interest in this. I have not yet said anything about the solution you proposed because I had not understood it completely. Not enough even to ask some questions. But I am trying to understand your solution and I am getting convinced that your’s is a simpler and inexpensive design compared to mine. But I think I'll take some more time to understand your design.

By the way I posted that program that reads the voltages on parallel port connected to a switch\relay here on 8052.com.
