#126522 - you have now visited Missouri Responding to: ???'s previous message |
a recent chip, that I use, the P89C51RD2 has a !RD pulse of 50ns min (in 6 clock mode - we are discussing 'modern') http://www.standardics.nxp.com/products/...c51rd2.pdf the Intersil 82c55A http://www.intersil.com/data/fn/fn2969.pdf specify a minimum !RD pulse of 250 or 150 ns for the 2 variants
so, a simple calculation show that with the best 82c55 and a P89C51Rx2 in 6 clock mode, you need to slow down to 1/3 of the chips capability to use the STUPID ANTIQUE. It may be even worse, I only checked one paraeter (!RD), setup and hold may require additional snailing. OK, you have now visited MO Erik PS it was so quaint to have a look at a datasheet with a picture of the die. Well if you do antiques, you probably document it the ancient way. |
