I don't think the cost of redrawing a board with X1/X2 swap is an issue; the tooling of course might matter depending on the volume. We often use a low-cost version for a prototype, e.g. without silkscreen, sometimes if it is only a proof-of-concept, we use a lower-quality but fast and cheap local service. Of course I don't claim we never made an error, even on boards near production... Luckily I don't hardware professionally for quite a long time now; the boards back then were substantially simpler and cheaper... :-) JW |
