Clearly, reading the "fine print" will usually shed light. Unfortunately, searching the datasheet doesn't, in this case.

This MCU appears, to my cursory eye, to be one with an internal supervisor function rather than the usual requirement for an external one. Apparently, it's possible to use the power-on-reset pin as a port pin once the initial reset is done.

I'm curious how you fool the thing into recovering from a brownout, or other power glitch, that doesn't drop power completely, though, since the MCU seems to "look at" Vcc and wait for it to go really low before it will respond to an external reset pulse on that reset pin.
