I thought you were responding to my initial statement, regarding the implementation of various classical languages in personal microcomputers which (of course) occurred much later than 1963...
It's english (as opposed to martian) syntax is why it ended up in most early home PC's, with a very small percentage of others including stuff like Pascal, ForTran or forth(ughh) etc. Andy wrote: The time being 1963 - when BASIC was created.
