Are you deliberately ignoring the point of this thread?

If code were published to be used then, of course, it should either be tested or be clearly stated as untested.

But the purpose of this thread was not to provide code to do NMEA checksums - or, in fact, to provide any code at all.
This thread is a discussion about the two programming languages 'C' and BASIC. The typos in the indexes make absolutely no difference whatsoever to its value for that purpose.
