why on earth would he do that, it was a quick writeup to show a comparison between C and BASIC, for him to "take the time and do the job right and test your code" is totally irrelevant Andy's example is close enought to show the level of difference between the two.

That you happen to have some code lying around or, more likely, found it on the web, does not automatically make it the duty of everyone responding to "take the time and do the job right and test your code".

In the discussion of c vs BASIC as to "how many lines/words/ whatever" or some such Andy's example is by far good enough.
