I want to mount the outdoor display I am making on a moving vehicle (bus or truck), I am assuming a multiplexed unit will consume less power than a constant current one. Secondly maxim has a huge selection of driver IC's for constant current displays. Which one should I use in case I went for that option?? I want one which allows scrolling text.
