A compromise between the decay time constant and refresh rate has to be made, though, especially in case of moving display. A similar principle is used in CRTs (and to a certain degree, LCD matrix displays too). Even if not exactly multiplexed (scanned), it is a similar principle. The decay is provided by property of the phosphor. So, an analogy for LED displays could be, using a white LED of the phosphor type, with a controlled decay time... JW |
