You will only get a benefit if for a given brightness, your power consumption is lower...

If you lower your brightness due to multiplexing, you should compare with consumption for the same brightness without multiplexing.

Is this the case? I doubt you can gain more by multiplexing. But I must admit at the same time that I cannot make any hard statements on this... It's just that I wonder if one can achieve a higher efficiency by multiplexing compared to a constant current source per LED.
