Here we go again 'experimenting' what the ... is wrong with reading a datasheet and calculating the necessary delay to make sure that if a unit is replaced the thingy still works.

Nikunj: please pay no attention to that crappy misleading "advice"

First of all, experiementing is NOT A PROBLEM!

Ok, fine, it is a good idea to perform calcuilations, but if you are so new to LCD's and you wanted to get one working very quickly without all the precise math, you would use my code, even though it processes stuff slowly.

Nikunj, take anyone's advice. My advice was only intended to be used under the worse case scenario.
