Last we discussed LCDs I proved that there is NO 'standard pinout' so how is the OP going to test it without a datasheet to tell him which pin is which. Also how does anyone know that the bias is on pin 3 when no datasheet is available? Of course anyone can ASS U ME that the pinout is 'normal' Erik
