Any good source of Spice models of caps? Through hole parts can be modelled by the following equivalent series circuit: 100µF/25V, alum. electrolytic, lead spacing 2.54mm, standard type (Frolyt ERF): C=100µF, L=15nH, R=0.5Ohm 100nF/50V, X7R, lead spacing 5.08mm: C=100nF, L=5nH, R=0.1Ohm Take care, there are ceramic caps on the market showing much lower series resistances, down to R=0.01Ohm! Electrolytic caps for the use in switching regulators and most tantals do also show much lower series resistances. 0805 SMD ceramic caps show an inductance of about 1nH. C and R are nearly the same. Contact me, if you need the data of other caps. Kai |
