A lot depends on what a "pin driver" has to do. They're still made, BTW.
A good PROM programmer capable of doing what's required cost more than just a few thousand. The last one I bought, a Data I/O UniSite, supporting a wide range of packages and very wide range of devices, listed for >>$40KUS. I have to say, it works very well for me, though I bought it to support "mature" devices not supported by the "cheap" <$10KUS programmers I already owned. To control a 28-pin EPROM's VPP, all you need is an SPDT switch. You can, of course, use a transistor. It's not rocket science. It's not even difficult, but you DO have to have the relevant datasheets so you'll know what to do. RE |
