Many (in fact most, I think) don't sell direct - only through distribution.

Even Maxim - who do sell direct - still have problems with counterfeit parts:

Note that "BRILLIANT ELECTRO SYSTEMS PVT LTD" is not listed by Atmel as a distributor for India:

Atmel is a problem maker with distribution other than 10'000 nos, they dont even provide online sellers. Just go to nxp , or texas instruments,linear technologies, etc site and buy even low quantities from their online selling sources.
