#153731 - Yes, the times are a-changing, but it's up to you! Responding to: ???'s previous message |
This won't happen by itself, and there's little I can do about it from here. That's especially true if customs charges you duty on free parts, which they should, perhaps, not do.
I have the sense that things are a lot like we imagine the "Wild West" was back in the day, but, believe it or not, that was before my time. If you establish a supply chain and suffer the high duties on parts imported from the U.S. or from Europe, you will, at a minimum, have a reliable source of genuine parts. I can't imagine how that will price out against "normal" distribution, if there is such a thing, in India. If you complain enough to ATMEL, or to Philips, or to anyone else, for that matter, you should, eventually, get a reply. I've no idea, of course what sort of reply that will be. All I can do is to wish you luck. Now, if you need an order assembled for you, from several sources, and then shipped in a common container, that will probably turn out to be much less costly than sourcing parts individually shipped to you from various vendors. That might be worth pursuing. RE |
