I will be working on toyota landcruise 4wd. I got the signal from the ready installed speed sensor( which I don't know what type it is) from the speedometer connection. I think the sensor senses the driveshaft rotation giving angular velocity of the wheels ( or portion of it).
I don't know how many pulses per revolution I get but I surely can calculate it from the graphs below and the radius of the wheels:





It looks like very nice clean pulses with no noise.
