Of course, this is actually measuring the wheel's angular speed - with the assumption that this is directly related to the car's linear speed.
This assumption is good except during wheelspin or lock-up. That may or may not be important to your application... This is damn important, I might scrap the speed measuring thing or use a different method like ultrasonic or doppler methods to measure car's speed wrt(with respect to) ground. does anybody recommend a compact ready made speed sensor using these methods?
