My point about the HC109 FF was basically that it could very easily toggle when it wasn't supposed to due to noise.
For non inverting schmitt trigger gates look at TI and their HC70xx series. Here is a data sheet for a quad AND gate which would give you non-inverting operation. Clearly you could also use a 74HC14 as you commented and use 2 in series. In summary I would look closest at 2 things here which I mentioned before.... 1) Use schmitt type buffers on control lines coming from a header or cable. 2) Re-consider any use of the RCO output of a counter, where glitches can happen as multiple outputs change, unless you take specific action to ensure that the period of the glitching is masked and prevented from getting to edge triggered inputs of other logic circuits. Your use of gating the RCO with the same clock that creates the RCO is a sure-fire way to get into trouble at the RCLK input so it should be avoided at all costs. Michael Karas |
