Hi Mak Kini,
The best way I have come across on how to do a job is based on "Time and Material". Have the user pay you an hourly cost and for all of the material. Now how much should you charge for your time? Look at other professions such as truck drivers and dock workers and find out how much they make. In the United States these professions make greater than $100,000 a year. Just take that number and divide it down by the amount of work hours in a year and charge at least that. It probably would be smart to double that number just to be safe. Besides doing a job there will come after the sale support which will drive you nuts if you don't let it be known what you were paid for. This also keeps the "Cheap Charlie's" from bugging you to do stuff for free. Free lance programmers in developed nations are getting about $80 per hour to do assembly work. Hope this helps. Regards, Charles Bannister Ps. If you are not getting this currently then I would suggest you get a job as a dock worker or a truck driver. You can do it if you just stick to kepping things simple. |
