#69561 - RE: Keil
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Commercial Reality, also means competition. When SDCC and RIDE (Raisonance SA 4k limitation of their demo version) give it away for free Keil will soon catch on they are behind the times. Raisonance professionial version is one quarter the price of Keil and as good without any limitations. Which one do you thing the people are going to buy?
1) forget SDCC, it lacks efficiency
2) Keil, because it is the most trusted.

I do have issues with Keil, do not get me wrong; however, I am fairly certain that I would have issues with Raisonance as well.

The argument about demo/eval versions is an old one and from the discussions here and in other fora it is obvious that very few consider these versions demo/eval, but instead consider them free software.

Of course, if you consider the eval versioins free software they are a miserable lot, but using them as intended (let me see how the IDE 'feels' and such) they serve the purpose very well.

PLEASE STOP treating demo/eval versions as freeware they are NOT.

Erik
