#73365 - RE: 1-Wire? I2C? SPI? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Andy,
I guess I can see how that would cut down the identification issue, which is really a one-time thing. The MAX6957 also reduces the cost of the driver per light from $0.34USD to $0.15USD. Of course the central wire bundle size is going to increase from 3 wires to ~152 wires. I guess the process for determining which ROM ID is in which location could be tedious. It's too bad that Maxim doesn't let the user assign a 64 bit value. But I think it probably wouldn't take more than a couple of hours to generate a table by turning all of the lights on at a certain ROM address and then looking to see which floor has lights lit.
