#73465 - RE: Runway for alien hamsters? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I agree, Russell. This project is so much of an total overkill, that the customer can only be either an oil millionaire or an insurance company.
To be honest this is what I thought when I had a meeting with the two gentlemen, they were talking of real big project. Pitty they didn't expect the quote I gave them, they were thinking of having 3000 switches to turn each lamp on or off saving on parts :) A model building needing up to 6500Watt only for illumination is well too big to fit with anyone's hobby room... This is what i told them first thing and they agreed not to turn all lights on at the same time cutting down on power requirements, a maximum of 180 rooms at a time or 3 floors ( about 32A power supply). Nevertheless, Mahmood's projects are nearly always a real engineering challenge. Here all the fun is, it is a brain itcher. Or maybe he plans to build a runway for Jez's alien hamster friends? Well it wasn't my idea, if I get paid enough I will do the job and enjoy my time building it like I'm beeing paid for doing a hobbey. It all depends on the customer, I will meet with him again tomorrow and see how things go and come back to you here. Thank you for your excellent suggestions and intelligent discussions. Mahmood |
