Putting ferrite beads isn't going to make your product any more reliable but it will go towards making your product EMC compliant!

Not only EMC compliant but EMC resistent as well = more reliable.

In my environment (buses) I do not have to worry too much about generating EMC, but I have a big problem with receiving EMC, thus I need the ferrites to avoid all kinds of strange happenings.
