It is good to know that being a mechanical engineer you have acquired such a skill which i am sure many good electronics engineers may be lacking (leave apart ordinary lot)
I have opted for electronics engg as career option in 1977 but find facilities related to electronics engg educ is not upto the mark (teaching faculty , labs equip , syll etc). Some how I learned all these of myself only with lot of hard effort in terms of money , time & eneazy and deve many good projects also. But I find fellows who has taken easier path of software and other simple career are in much better position. Moreover having spent so many years in this field sees no future of single handed develop like me.
Tech is changinh fast , whatever you develope you find better product with less cost from big comp.
We are getting limited to very small insignificant projects
