Kaiwalya, I'm not sure I understand what you wish to do. We have a PC, a hub and a RS485 network with a number of slaves. Normally I would have the PC as the master, polling each slave in turn. Therefore there is no need for RTS or CTS handshaking. Are you expecting the hub to be the master to the RS485 and it will poll the slaves? The PC would then need to talk to the hub to send/receive the information it has got from the slaves. The hub would ideally need two serial ports. Moxa has such a device that you can write your own code on top of their framework to communicate via ethernet and RS485.
Personally, I would suggest you start simple with the PC polling the slaves then work up to something a little more complex. If you could explain your application better Ithink we could offer some more guidance on how to attack the problem |
