What i mean by a hub here is a point from where 5 separate rs-485 networks are starting, not having any connection between them.
This is just to distribute the load, as I want to attach almost
40 nodes on rs-485 link.
So instead of connecting all on single bus I am trying to setup 5 separate networks controlled by single master one-by-one.
I am trying to keep my design as per "10 Ways...."
Thanks to Russell, “how do you know what device has failed? Ten devices are easy to isolate, 40 becomes laborious, so rather than pile as many devices onto the one bus, split it up and use a rs485 hub (or design your master to have many drivers)”

What target i have is to develop a communication link between devices, which includes motors, & sensors to measure physical quantity. (Control & sensing systems are being developed separately/ already developed).
Depending on sensors response motors r supposed to be controlled.
Now I have been asked to use 'standard protocol' & at the same time to built a master controller so if pc is not required/available this master unit can still control the process
with help of some keypad & display.
