i have the data sheet for the atmel but where does it tell you the maximum output current rating of an output port
In you case who cares about the maximum, it is the minimum that will be your calaulated base current for driving the base of your transistor. If you look at Voh you will see that it can only be maintained at some tens of microamps. Do not confuse the sourcing ability with the sinking ability which is substantial. If you want the transistor solution use a darlington the get the beta needed. Erik |
