That's not a limit of the 8051 architecture; it's just that vendors have not seen fit to add more DPTRs.
In fact, some variants have 4 DPTRs; there's no reason, in principle why it shouldn't be more - presumably, they just don't see the demand.

Again, 8K internal XRAM is not an 8051 architecture limit
