Get rid of those features and it's no longer an 8051! Maybe you would end up with something like an AVR! But you would have to do a full frontal lobotomy to get the PIC architecture! For me the 8051 has travelled well in the 15 or so years I've used it. Next step up seems to be the ARM thats 'taking hold' errrrrrrrrr!
