#116398 - 8052 overclocking
hi guys

recently I switched from AT89S8282 to AT89S8253
the '53 has a feature to swich the internal clock
this means it takes 6 clockpulses for one machinecycle instead of 12, so your uC runs twice as fast.
The datasheets states the max freq is 24 MHz, so in case of the clock doubler 12 MHz max.

Does anyone have an idea what happens it I double the clock on a 20+ MHz x-tal, so the freq should become 40+ MHz

will the uC get instable or will it work? I would be really happy with such a fast uC

Let my know how you think about it

Regards
Jeroen
