There was a fouth version of these devices, the first, called the P89C51Rx+.
NXP devices new from the factory should have the status bit/byte set, therefore causing them to execute the bootloader when powered up. This is often a source of confusion because the hardware ISP entry method is not actually tested until the status bit/byte has been cleared and the device reset. However the user thinks that the hardware ISP entry method worked the first time... New devices shouldn't transmit anything after reset until they received the autobaud character. Andy |
